Masculinity= Gayness?

What we think about homosexuality is the same as what we think is feminine, when we think of a gay male, we think of men involved with other men, and people who are flamboyant, loud, feminine, bright colored style of clothing, and a wanna-be-woman type of guy.

But why do we think of that this stereotyping should go for all of the gay men? Most gay men are attracted to the straight looking type of men, if they could get a good looking straight man, they would. The gay society doesn’t really like that they are being stereotyped as sensitive and weak like how most of us would see them on TV. Just like on the hit television show “Will & Grace”, they have a number of gay characters. Some of which acts most stereotypes would.

It’s funny how the straight community would be so judgmental of the gay community, where in fact, the gay community are even more judgmental to some people in their own league. In numerous internet gay dating websites, most men can put up on their “wants” section of their profile, what they want and what they don’t want. Just like on the different gay internet dating sites, lots and lots of men would say that they want the macho type men, they would mention that they want someone straight acting, or someone who is not “obvious” that he is gay, they also would say that they don’t want any fat or chubby ones, unless you got the face to go over it. Many gay men would want what many girls would want, a strong buff man who they could rely on, and that’s why some would push out chubs and very feminine gays out of their options.

There are different types of gay men, other than from the way of talking and how they walk; there are also many gay men who blend in perfectly in the straight community. These men are the ones doesn’t need the attention that a gay man would, and they normally act straight because they got used to it, they are not loud as you think they should be, and a plus side to this is that he wouldn’t make his straight friends feel uncomfortable, even though his interests are to sleep with the same sex.

Many gay men have their own ideal gay men, the thought of why most men wouldn’t want feminine and fat types of partners because they want someone who could pass as a straight man. I think that stereotypes are the result of majority, and I think that the gay men would want someone who wouldn’t blend with the common gay man. And the gay men who are fat and feminine are rejected by both societies because they can’t blend in with the group of the typical straight man, and they would be ridiculed by judgmental gay men.
